I am Niels Frederik, photographer based in The Hague, Netherlands.
My photography is about light, time and composition, and finding the extraordinary in seemingly ordinary moments.
I grew up in Amsterdam and began taking photography seriously around 2007. After a brief period in commercial work, I moved towards a more personal and conceptual approach, embracing analog photography and traditional darkroom-inspired techniques.
When I think of inspiration, photographers such as Alexey Titarenko, Michael Kenna, Brassaï, André Kertész and Elliott Erwitt come to mind—for their use of light, atmosphere, simplicity, poetry and subtle humour.
